Shack Out on 101: Lee Marvin is a cook named Slob at a seaside greasy spoon in this cold war classic.The waitress (Terry Moore) seems to be spending most of her time fending off the lecherous advances of almost all her co-stars, but in fact she is trying to stop nuclear sectets from leaving the country. Lust for Life: This is a bright adaptation of Irving Rock's biography of painter Van Gogh, vividly depicting his anguished life. Quinn captured a well-warranted 'Oscar for his performance as painter-Guy Gauguin, in this attractive color production. Cast includes Kirk Douglas, Anthony Quinn, James Donald, Pamela Brown, Everett Sloane, Niall MacGinnis, Noel Purcell, Henry Daniell, Jill Bennett, Lionel Jeffries, and Eric Pohlmann. Michael: A set of skeptical journalists and a fake "angel" find that a dotty old female's claim that the archangel Michael is living with her is real. Michael, nonetheless, turns out not to be your normal angel. Genial, wry film by no means goes where you anticipate and takes its time getting there, however the trip is alluring, and Travolta, as the seedy, randy Michael, is impeccably cast. Foxy Brown: Bloodshed and little else in this story of Nurse Grier and her vendetta against a drug ring that has slaughtered her lover. Cast includes Pam Grier, Peter Brown, Terry Carter, and Kathryn Loder. (94 minutes, 1974)
Iron Eagle: This is a comic magazine film in regards to an eighteen-year-old who commandeers an F sixteen aircraft and soars to the Middle East (playing rock music on his WaIkman all the way) on a quest to recover his dad, who's been taken hostage. Full of jingoistic superlatives, awkward morals, and individuals who die and miraculously return to life. Cast includes Louis Gossett, Jr., Jason Gedrick, David Suchet, Tim Thomerson, Larry G. Scott, Caroline Lagerfelt, and Jerry Levine. (119 minutes, 1986) .
Aguirre the Wrath of God: Commanding, spellbinding story of misled conquistador who leads a group of gentlemen away from Pizarro's 1560 South American journey looking for 7 cities of gold. Dreamlike film was shot on location in remote Amazon forests; Kinski is perfect as the crazy Aguirre. Cast includes Klaus Kinski, Ruy Guerra, Del Negro, Helena Rojo, Cecilia Rivera, and Peter Berling. (94 minutes, 1972)
