A Bunch Of Definitive Film Plot Summaries

by Mabel Bates

We have reviews of some movies listed below. In this paragraph I will give you some search terms to reach movie down load sites. A good starting point might be "Top DVD Rentals", after that try "Online Movies Tv" or "Download DVD Movies".

The League of Gentlemen: Ex-army colonel registers the help of prior officers (through blackmail) to lug off large bank heist. High-style British humor makes this story of crime a pleasure. Cast includes Jack Hawkins, Nigel Patrick, Roger Livesey, Richard Attenborough, Bryan Forbes, Kieron Moore, Robert Coote, and Nanette Newman. (114 minutes, 1960)

The Lost Boys: Family moves to a California town where the local adolescent clique turns out to be vampires! Smooth film aimed at adolescent spectators. Both the humor and the structuring are pretty apparent. Only genuine fireworks materialize at the end in the very last showdown. Cast includes Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Dianne Wiest, Bamard Hughes, Edward Herrmann, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, and Jamison Newlander. (97 minutes, 1987)

Alexander's Ragtime Band: Cheesy however amusing musical chronicling the virtuoso and romantic ups and downs of hot-headed aristocrat bandleader Power, fine gentleman and pianist composer Ameche, and hard but vulnerable singer Faye (in one of her best acting jobs). Cast includes Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Don Ameche, Ethel Merman, Jack Haley, Jean Hersholt, Helen Westley, Jand ohn Carradine. (105 minutes, 1938)

The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes: The first of Disney's duplicate comedies with youthful Russell as the college whiz inserted with a pc-mind, which winds up posing a threat to local gangster Romero. Cast includes Kurt Russell, Cesar Romero, Joe Flynn, William Schallert, Alan Hewitt, and Richard Bakalyan. (91 minutes, 1970)

The Bellboy: Entertaining succession of blackouts with Jerry as a bellboy at Fontainebleau in Miami Shore. No structure although a lot of ludicrous gags. Milton Berle and Walter Winchell have visitor appearances. This was JerryLewis's directorial debut. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Alex Gerry, Bob Clayton, and Sonny Sands. (120 minutes, 1960)

Search and Destroy: A severely in hock computer hack on the outer limits of show biz plans to acquire funding for his fantasy film venture, an adaptation of the pop psychologist rantings of a male movement expert. Cast includes Griffin Dunne, Illeana Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, John Turturro, Rosanna Arquette, Ethan Hawke, and Martin Scorsese. (90 minutes, 1995)

Double Wedding: Loy's orchestration of her sis's marriage ceremony is upset by the presence of free spirited bohemian Powell. The megastars are the entire show in this alternatively disheartening adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's play Incredible Love. Cast includes William Powell, Myrna Loy, Florence Rice, John Beal, Jessie Ralph, Edgar Kennedy, Sidney Toler, and Mary Gordon. (87 minutes, 1937)

The Pleasure Garden: Hitchcock's first work, shot in Munich is a choppy account of a pair of chorus gals, one sugary and knowing, the other a waif. They eventually both become involved with the same man. Cast includes Virginia Valli, Carmelita Geraghty, Miles Mander, Jolm Stuart, and George Snell. (68 minutes, 1935)

So Dark the Night: Renowned Parisian investigator is set to work throughout his holy day in the French country side. An impressively made B film, something of a sleeper in its time, agonizes only for absence of appeal on the part of its (mainly obscure) cast. Cast includes Steven Geray, Micheline Cheirel, Eugene Borden, Ann Codee, Egon Brecher, and Helen Freeman. (71 minutes, 1946)

These movies and thousands of others can be downloaded from the internet. With the right search, like "Best Movie Rental" or "Movies Download" you will find out all you need to know on downloading movies from the internet. If those fail you try "DVD Rental Services".
